On the night train to Harare from Bulawayo, this monster of a man wouldn't leave us alone. He was drinking this nasty white alcohol drink from that jug, and with every swig got more problematic. I didn't want to agitate him further, so I'd just nod and try to smile, although I was screaming inside. We probably got an hour of sleep the entire night. Harare looks surprisingly good. You'd never know that it is the capital city of one of the poorest countries on earth. Well dressed people hustle to work as if nothing is wrong. There are quite a few luxury cars on the roads.
I went jogging around and found this nice park. This flyer attached to a tree caught my eye. Apparently this Christian preacher can cure Aids and make the blind see. Traditional cultural beliefs and Religion are very influential in Africa. Even today, many Africans consult witch doctors, who make insane claims based on how magic bones fall onto a table. The worst one by far, is when they'll encourage HIV infected men to have sex with virgin girls in order to cleanse themselves of the disease. The misinformation from these witch-doctors is mind pollution, but if anybody tried to silence them, they'd get cursed.
Harare wasn't too exciting, but we were only here a few days before going out to a rural village where we'd meet the real Zimbabwean people.
